2-din Frame for Mitsubishi Outlander 1

If you’ve decided to upgrade your Mitsubishi Outlander by installing a 2-DIN head unit or a 2-DIN onboard computer, you will need a custom frame with a larger opening to accommodate it.

There are two types of frames available depending on the type of climate control in your vehicle:

1) For Vehicles with Climate Control

If your Outlander is equipped with a climate control system, you’ll need a frame designed specifically for that configuration. The original part number for the 2-DIN frame for Mitsubishi Outlander (non-XL model) is:

Step-by-Step Guide to Installing a 2-DIN Frame in Your Mitsubishi Outlander

 Follow these steps carefully to install a 2-DIN frame and head unit into your Mitsubishi Outlander:

1. Remove the Lower Panel

Start by gently pulling the lower part of the dashboard panel towards you (refer to the photo for guidance). It should come off without too much force.


2. Disconnect the Connectors

Once the panel is removed, disconnect all electrical connectors from the back of the panel. You can set the panel aside for now.


3. Adjust the Climate Control Knobs

If your vehicle has climate control, position the control knobs vertically and carefully pull them off.


4. Remove the Old Head Unit

Now, remove the existing head unit. It should be secured with screws or brackets. Carefully pull it out from the mounting area.


5. Unscrew the Old Frame

There are two screws that hold the old frame in place. Use a screwdriver to remove them and set them aside.


6. Remove the Old Panel

The old panel is secured with six clips. Carefully pry them loose using a trim tool or your hands, then remove the panel.


7. Remove the Old Bracket

12. Address the Gap (If Necessary)

People are faced with the problem that this 2-din frame is very difficult to get. in fact it costs a lot, but not all suppliers can sell it.
